Für den Export von digitalen Objekten, die auf filmportal.de verfügbar sind, und deren zugehörigen Metadaten hat das DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum ein Anwendungsprofil des Europeana Data Models (EDM) entwickelt. Die entsprechend modellierten Metadaten stehen über die OAI-Schnittstelle von filmportal.de zur Verfügung.
Darüber hinaus ist DFF-EDM das zukünftige Lieferformat für Daten, die über die Fachstelle Mediathek-Film zugeliefert werden.
1.1 Das Europeana Data Model
Das EDM wurde im Projekt Europeana V1.0 entwickelt und dient der Aggregation von Metadaten zu Kulturobjekten und ihrer Digitalen Repräsentationen. Basierend auf Linked-Data-Prinzipien stellt es eine "top-level" Ontologie dar, die es ermöglicht, Informationen zu Objekten, die nach verschiedenen Community-Standards modelliert vorliegen, abzubilden und miteinander zu vernetzen.
Derzeit sind acht Klassen des Datenmodells technisch in der Europeana implementiert:
- die drei Kernklassen edm:ProvidedCHO, edm:WebResource und ore:Aggregation; die ersten beiden Klassen dienen der Beschreibung des Kulturobjekts und der digitalen Repräsentation(en) und werden ore:Aggregation "gebündelt" und mit weiteren administrativen Informationen, wie z.B. der liefernden Institution versehen.
- die fünf kontextuellen Klassen edm:Agent, edm:Place, edm:TimeSpan, skos:Concept und cc:License; Personen und Körperschaften, Orte, Zeiträume, abstrakte Konzepte und Lizenzinformationen können in den kontextuellen Klassen eingehender beschrieben werden.
1.1.1 In DFF-EDM verwendete Klassen
Das EDM-Anwendungsprofil des DFF verwendet die drei Kernklassen
- edm:ProvidedCHO
- edm:WebResource
- ore:Aggregation
sowie die kontextuellen Klassen:
- edm:Agent
- edm:Place
- skos:Concept
- und zusätzlich eine Klasse für die Informationen zum Filmwerk, mit dem ein Objekt in Beziehung stehen kann:

Die Informationen werden in sogenannten Triples formuliert, die man als Subjekt, Verb und Objekt einer Aussage lesen kann. Die Bestandteile der Aussage werden wiederum durch http-URIs ausgedrückt:

1.2 Die Klasse rdac:C10001, "Werk", aus Resource Description and Access (RDA)
Das Filmwerk, zu dem ein Objekt in Beziehung stehen kann, wird in der Klasse rdac:C10001 näher beschrieben. Im DFF-EDM-Anwendungsprofil sind folgende Properties vorgesehen:
- rdaw:P10004 für die Gattung
- rdaw:P10066 für den Regisseur/die Regisseurin
- rdaw:P10218 für das Produktionsland
- rdaw:P10219 für das Produktionsjahr
- rdaw:P10223 für den Vorzugstitel
- owl:sameAs für externe Identifikaktoren des Filmwerks (z.B. Wikidata oder GND)
- eine Relation aus der "Filmportal Relations Ontologie"
1.3 Die "Filmportal Relations Ontologie"
filmportal.de bietet bei der Einbindung und Verknüpfung von Objekten im CMS verschiedene Arten der Relation von Objekt zu Person oder Objekt zu Film zur Auswahl. Diese Relationen wurden in eine Ontologie übersetzt, um sie als Properties mit http-URIs im Exportformat mitliefern zu können. Die Relationen dienen dazu, in der jeweiligen kontextuellen Klasse (siehe 1.1.1) einen Rückverweis auf das ProvidedCHO zu modellieren.
